Information tool (བརྡ་སྤྲོད་པའི་གྱི་ལག་ཆས།)

 

Information tool (བརྡ་སྤྲོད་པའི་གྱི་ལག་ཆས།) refers to the repository of content or information. Information tools can be text, image, video, animation, and graphics.

Examples of the information tool: Social Media Apps, the Internet, Encyclopedia, Books, journals, articles, and educational websites. 

Reflection 5

During the sixth session, we learned about the information tool, its benefit in integrating it in the classroom, and the various formats of the informative tool. Informative tools are applications that provide large amounts of information in various formats such as text, graphics, sound, or video. We integrate the informative tool in the classroom to encourage learners to explore, think critically, develop research skills and learn to integrate relevant information. Moreover, informative tools are an opportunity for teachers to differentiate instruction to modify information for the appropriate learning capabilities of their students.

Integrating informative tools in the classroom can also enhance the learners critically thinking and develop their searching skills, providing learners an opportunity to validate the information on the internet and analyze it which in turn helps the student to expand their knowledge and skills in learning concepts.

We use text, sound, image, animation, video, and graphics as informative tools in the classroom. To communicate thoughts, ideas, and facts in every aspect of our lives we use text. Furthermore, we use text for immediate response times, develop comprehension skills, providing as well as gather information.  Images which are a visual representation of information such as drawings, pictures, graphs, and photographs are used in the classroom to help the students transmit the information to their brains quickly. Likewise to improve listening skills and comprehending skills; we use audio, video, animation, and graphics in the classroom.
